Quartz Countertop Slabs

We manufacture quartz countertops and the jumbo quartz slabs they are cut from, for fabricators, distributors and project buyers. Our standard quartz slabs are pressed from more than 90% natural quartz for a hard, non-porous surface that resists scratches and stains and needs no sealing. Most buyers take whole slabs and cut their own; others have us cut finished quartz countertops and vanity tops to their drawings. Browse the quartz colours we currently produce below — from Calacatta and Carrara looks to solid tones — then send us your sizes, thickness and quantity for a quote.

Quartz slab sizes, thickness and weight

3200 × 1600 mm is our standard slab size. Up to this size, we can also press to your own dimensions, so each slab fits your cutting plan and yields more finished pieces. Please note that finished countertops are always slightly smaller than the slab, because the edges are trimmed square before fabrication.

Weights are calculated from the measured density of 2.42 g/cm³ and the pressed slab size. Allow a few kilograms either way between batches.

A 3200 mm slab yields a 3000 mm island top in one piece with no joint, and at 1600 mm wide it takes a 1500 mm double-basin vanity top across the width. Weights, yield per slab and container loading are set out in full here: quartz slab size and weight, and which thickness to specify. Within the 3200 × 1600 mm jumbo format, we also press custom designs on batch orders.

Tested properties

These figures come from third-party laboratory testing on our own material, each measured against the standard named beside it. We publish them because buyers need real numbers to quote a job with confidence. In this trade, that level of data is still uncommon — so we put it on the page.

With water absorption within 0.04 %, this material is effectively non-porous — liquid has nothing to penetrate, which is why it performs reliably on a wet bench and does not require sealing at any stage of its service life. It also passes the 20-cycle freeze–thaw test without cracking, delamination or surface loss, so an unheated room or a covered porch is no problem. For a top that sits in direct sun outdoors we recommend porcelain instead, because UV breaks down the resin binder over time — see our guide to outdoor countertops.

Quartz countertops by style: which slab for which top

Engineered quartz countertops are bought on looks first, so the design decides where a slab does its best work. Most of the quartz designs we press sit on a white ground and many are Calacatta faces, but the range also runs to Carrara, plain colours, speckled granite looks and dark stone. Matched to the job:

  • Calacatta for kitchen islands and waterfall ends. A bold vein on a white ground is what most quartz countertops in new kitchens are cut from, and the 3200 mm slab takes a 3000 mm island in one piece. See the Calacatta designs and kitchen countertops.
  • Carrara and soft marble looks for long runs. A fine grey vein makes a seam easier to hide where a long counter has to be joined; a bold Calacatta vein has to be book-matched across the joint. See the Carrara designs and the marble-look quartz.
  • Plain colours for vanity tops and hotel bathrooms. A solid white, cream or gray face looks the same from one room to the next, which matters when a hotel or apartment block is fitted out in phases. Order the whole job from one batch, because a later batch can differ slightly in colour. See the solid colours, pure white and vanity tops.
  • Dark faces for bars and reception counters. Black quartz countertops read strongly across a room under low light, which is where a long counter is usually seen. See the black designs, bar tops and reception counters.
  • Speckled granite looks for hard-working surfaces. A fine chip hides crumbs and wear on a counter that is used all day. See the granite-look designs.

Silica-free quartz for Australia and the UK

Our silica-free quartz is pressed for the rules that now govern engineered stone in Australia and the UK. Australia has banned engineered stone containing 1% or more crystalline silica. The UK has not banned it, but since May 2026 the Health and Safety Executive has told fabricators to cut wet and to switch to engineered stone with a low silica content — this product is our response to both.

Third-party FTIR and XRD testing confirm no crystalline silica peaks are detected. Slab size, thickness, finishes and fabrication method remain unchanged; the difference is in the mineral filler, not in how the slab behaves on the saw.

Almost every quartz design we press can be made in the silica-free version. It is made to order rather than held in stock, with a lead time of about 30 days, so tell us your design and destination market and we will confirm the date before you quote your customer.

Buying terms

Everything you need to plan a first order, in one place. Stock slabs start at a single slab; ask us to check stock first. Made-to-order slabs start at one container, which can mix up to five colours and different thicknesses — standard for us, not a favour.

All slabs are pressed in our plants in Guangdong and ship from Guangzhou or Shenzhen. We supply fabricators and distributors across North America, Australia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Israel, and we handle export documentation in-house rather than through an agent.

Samples before you commit

Nobody orders a container off a photograph. Send us the model numbers and we will post hand samples at 150 × 150 mm — one per design, up to six designs per request. For a shortlist, we can also photograph the actual bundle on the rack, so you see the batch you would receive rather than a representative piece.

Slabs, or finished pieces cut to your drawings

Most of our shipments are whole slabs, because fabricators prefer to cut their own. When it makes more sense to have the cutting done at the factory — a repeat project, a market without local fabrication capacity, or a run of identical vanity tops — we cut to your drawings instead.

Beyond slabs, we also supply finished fabricated products: kitchen countertops, bathroom vanity tops, floor tiles and wall tiles. These are produced to your drawings and specifications, using the same material and the same in-house fabrication line.

Fifteen edge profiles are cut in-house, from a flat eased edge to a full bullnose and a mitred 40 mm apron. Undermount and drop-in sink openings, faucet holes, cooktop and socket cutouts are all polished on the exposed cut face. Send a DXF or a dimensioned drawing and we return a cutting plan against the actual slab before the saw starts.

Questions we are asked before the first order

Quartz is the better choice for a low-maintenance indoor kitchen, and granite where hot pans go straight on the top. Quartz is crushed quartz bound with pigment and resin, Mohs 6 to 7 in hardness; with water absorption within 0.04% it never needs sealing, and colour is consistent within one production batch. Granite is natural stone: most fabricators seal it before installation and colour varies from slab to slab, but a hot pan does it no harm, while on quartz it can scorch the resin binder.

Quartzite is a natural stone and quartz is made in a factory. Quartzite is a metamorphic rock, sandstone baked by heat and pressure deep underground until the grains fuse; porous quartzites need sealing and re-sealing from time to time. Quartz countertops are crushed quartz, more than 90% of the body, bound with pigment and resin and pressed into slabs. Ours absorb within 0.04% water and never need sealing, and the colour is consistent within a production batch.

For a working kitchen, quartz. Marble is mainly calcium carbonate, so lemon, vinegar and other acids can dull or etch the surface, and in many cases it is sealed. Our quartz absorbs within 0.04% water, never needs sealing and keeps the same colour across a production batch. If it is the marble look you want, we press Calacatta and Carrara looks in quartz, polished or honed, so you get the veining without the upkeep.

Crushed quartz, more than 90% of the body, is mixed with pigment and a resin binder, compacted under vacuum and vibration, then cured, calibrated and polished. We press ours in our plants in Guangdong at a standard 3200 × 1600 mm. Colour is consistent within one production batch, but a repeat order from a later batch can show a slight shade difference, so order the whole job together or send us a sample to match first.

Quartz countertops are usually 20 mm (about 3/4 in) or 30 mm (about 1-1/4 in) thick. In US kitchens 30 mm is the common choice, while 20 mm is typical for vanity tops and is the thickness most of our export buyers order. We press quartz slabs in 15, 20, 25 and 30 mm. A full 3200 × 1600 mm slab weighs 248 kg at 20 mm and 372 kg at 30 mm.

A white Calacatta or a plain white face suits a modern or minimal kitchen with flat-panel or handleless cabinets, usually 20 mm thick with an eased edge or a mitred 40 mm apron. For a traditional kitchen, a Carrara or a warmer beige marble look with a rounded bullnose edge sits better against shaker doors and painted cabinetry. Send us a photo of the cabinet door and we suggest two or three designs; we can supply the cabinets too.

Yes. We press every quartz design on this page in our plants in Guangdong, and our team has made engineered stone since 2014. We supply whole slabs, cut-to-size panels, or finished countertops and vanity tops with edges and cut-outs done in house, in any of 15 edge profiles. Finished pieces have no minimum order, though freight on small lots is high. Send a drawing or cutting list and we reply within 24 hours.

Fill the chip with a two-part epoxy in thin layers until it is flush, let it cure, usually about 24 hours, then sand it with progressively finer grits and polish the area. Mixing in dust shaved from an offcut of the same slab gives the closest colour. Matching a manufactured pattern is harder than on natural stone, so where a large chip has to disappear completely, have a professional fabricator do the repair.

There is no need to seal quartz countertops, at installation or later. Our quartz absorbs within 0.04% water, so it is effectively non-porous and liquid has nothing to penetrate; that is why it performs reliably on a wet bench. Spend the effort on heat instead: a pan straight off the hob can scorch the resin binder, so use a trivet.

Wipe the top with a soft cloth or non-abrasive scourer dipped in warm water and a mild detergent, rinse, and dry with a soft cloth. Wipe up spills promptly. Keep oven and grill cleaners, dishwasher detergent, paint removers, strong solvents and strong acids or alkalis off the surface, and never pour bleach straight onto it. Because our quartz is effectively non-porous, spills stay on the surface and wipe away.

Sizes, weights and thickness are covered in detail in quartz slab size and weight and how thick are quartz countertops.
